Speedy Fox and Friends Challenge # 90 - Use a Border Punch

Happy Saturday, You know what that means, it is time for another Challenge with Speedy Fox.  This weeks challenge is to use a border punch. I was excited about this challenge since I have a new technique from Technique Junkies to use. The technique is called curvy borders. After several tries I got it and I love it. Today I am sneak peaking one of Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co. January stamp sets "Cowgirls Rule". This is a totally fun stamp set and I can't wait to create more with it. make sure to come back and visit us Tuesday through Friday for our Monthly Blog Hop for your chance to win one of these sets. Back to my card. I used Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co. Hazelnut Tan and Snow Storm cardstock for my card. I stamped my image onto a white oval die cut with Brushed Corduroy distressed ink pad and colored the words with Copic Markers. I then punched from white cardstock as well Martha Stewarts border punch and added it to my die cut, using the technique from the TJ Newsletter from December 2011/January 2012. I then mounted it to the base of my card. I then colored and cut out my cowgirl hats and mounted them with pop dots. I added a tri-color ribbon and then finished off the card with gemstones. I thought those would be perfect since the song "Like a Rhinestone Cowboy" kept running through my head the whole time I was making this card.

For the inside of my card I put white cardstock and stamped my sentiment and then added some more cowgirl hats. I hope you like my card. Thanks for stopping and commenting, I hope to see you again. Spotlight

Today my card is for the DRS Designs weekly challenge which is to use the Spotlight Technique. This was new to me so I had no clue how to do it. I found the instructions on SCS.

I am using olive cardstock for the base of my card and black for layering. I used Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co stamp set New Pines for my card. After stamped my image onto white cardstock with my jet black Stazon stamp pad I stamped the same image again onto another piece of cardstock and then cut out a portion of the image for my spotlight. I colored my image with Prismacolor Pencils.  I brushed to side of the white cardstock with Glorious green ink pad and then mounted my image and my sentiment to my card. I finished off the card with black polka dot ribbon and flourish gems.

On the inside of my card I also layered the black and white cardstock and then stamped my image and sentiment. With the inside image I chose to color the entire image. I hope you like my card. Thanks for stopping and commenting, I hope to see you back again soon.

FOSTV Challenge Week 2 - Thank You

Wow can you believe that one week is past in the New Year? Welcome to a new week of challenges with Friends of SpeedyTV. This weeks challenge is to make a Thank You Card. With the holidays over what a better time to make a Thank You card, we all have them to send out.

For my card I am using Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co. stamp set A Trip to Lancaster. I also used Big Boy Toys and Sand, Surf, Relax for the sentiments. I am using Mark's Garnet cardstock for the base of my card. I have been using so many new techniques from Technique Junkies since I got my new subscription. For this card I am using a technique called Chalked Emboss. This is such a fun and easy technique to use, I highly recommend a subscription to their newsletters. Once I finished my background paper I mounted it to black cardstock and then to the base of my card. I added gold ribbon to the card. I cut out of black, garnet, and white cardstock and them stamped my image onto it. I layered the colors and mounted it to my card. I then finished off the card with a small sentiment tot he bottom of the card in black ink.

HSI #30 - Torn Paper and/or Border Punch

Hello Everyone and welcome to a brand new week of challenges with Heart Song Inspirations. I just want to say how impressed we are with the amount of submissions we had last week. We hope to see this kind of response every week. This weeks challenge is to use torn paper and/or a border punch. Make sure to stop by the Heart Song Designs shop and check out the new images we have for you.

This week for my card I am using one of the new images offered in the shop, Hanging Hearts. With Valentines Day just around the corner this is a great image for a Valentine Card. I colored my image using Prismacolor pencils, then I cut the image out. I chose to use red for the base of my cardstock, after all what is a Valentine Card without using red. I folded my card and then punched the bottom part of my card with a Martha Stewart edge punch. One of my Christmas presents was a subscription to the Technique Junkies newsletter. With this new subscription I am trying new and fun techniques. For my card today I am using a technique called Chalk Emboss. Can I tell you this is one of my new favorite techniques. I mounted my background paper to the base of my card and then my image to the card with pop dots. I finished off my card with pearl dots from my cream pearl pen, and a computer generated sentiment. Speedy Fox Friends Challenge # 89 - Beads or Eyelets

Happy Saturday and Welcome to a New Year of challenge and a new mascot. This week begins the first challenge with Speedy Fox and Friends. I know we all loved and adored Speedy the Cat and he will be missed, but since Mark's is under new ownership they would like to change the mascot, so now we have a fox. Let's make him feel welcome.

This weeks challenge with Speedy Fox is to make a card using beads or eyelets. I thought Patty had a brilliant idea with this challenge. You hardly see too many cards with beads or eyelets anymore, well at least I don't. It is nice to your old and forgotten embellishments once in a while so they know you still love them and need them.


For Christmas I could not make up my mind what I wanted so I told my husband to just wait until I could decide what I wanted. Well I am excited to say that I did get the New Technique Junkies 3D CD with the fancy folds and a subscription to the Technique Junkie newsletter. I have been so excited with all the new techniques to try that I could hardly contain myself. Yesterday I got my CD and can not wait to get working on the cool designs.

For my  card this week I am using the color sandwich technique from the June/July 2011 newsletter. When I saw this technique I thought this is great it is too cool and it looks Easy, Peasy,  Lemon Squeezy. I used Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co. Pucker Up stamp set for my card. I chose to use Pretty in Pink and Summer Sun ink pads for my sandwich colors. I then stamped my image and colored the same way I did my background. Once it was colored I cut it out and mounted it to my background with pop dots. Then I stamped my sentiment in Basic Black. Once this was done I chose the same color eyelets and alternated them on my base. Once this was done I mounted it to pink and black cardstock. I chose to use Late Afternoon Sun cardstock from Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co for the base of my card. I stamped background images onto the base of my card with my pink and yellow ink pads. I then mounted my image onto the base of my card. I did the same technique with my die cut that I used for my sentiment and mounted it with yellow ribbon and brads.

For the inside of my card I layered white and pink cardstock onto the base of my card and then stamped my sentiment with Basic Black ink. The inside is simple. I hope you like my card. Beverages

Hello Fellow Stampers and Happy Friday,

Today I have a card for you that I did for the CAS challenge on SCS this week. The challenge was to make a card using the theme beverages. I was stumped as to what image I wanted to use. I chose to use Heart Song Designs - Cup of Pansies. Make sure to stop by their shop and see all the wonderful digital images they have. I colored my image with Prismacolor Pencils. I really struggled with this card and how I wanted to do it. I am not sure if I like it yet but I wanted to share with you anyway. I mounted my image onto black cardstock and added frames to the image out of Late Afternoon Sun cardstock from Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co.  I then mounted it to some brown designer paper and to the base of my card which I chose deep olive from Mark's. I added a simple Happy Birthday sentiment that I typed up on my computer. I finished off the card with some brads and buttons.

The inside of my card is pretty simple too I just added the white and sun cardstock with a simple computer generated sentiment. I hope you like my card. Thanks for stopping and commenting, I hope to see you again soon. Have a blessed day.
