Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co.

Happy New Year and Welcome to Mark's Finest Paper's, a Heinrich Co. January Blog Hop. We have some great stamp sets in store for you this month. Today we are showcasing Love Remains
I love flowers and this set is gorgeous. It is very versatile and elegant and perfect for any occasion.

For my card today I am using a technique called 5X7 Step Ladder card. I got this technique from the new Technique Junkies 3D and Folds CD. I stamped my image onto white cardstock and colored it with my watercolor colored pencils. I also stamped my sentiments onto white cardstock with Basic Black ink. I mounted my white cardstock onto Valentine's Day designer paper and then onto black cardstock and then to the base of my card which I chose to use red cardstock. For my accent pieces I mounted the same designer paper onto black cardstock and then to the base of my card. I finished off the card with heart gems, silk flower buds and decorative buttons. I hope you enjoyed my card. Thanks for stopping and commenting I hope you will come again soon. Make sure to check out our challenges on SpeedyTV with the Friends of SpeedyTV. Make sure to comment on all the blogs to qualify for one of January stamp sets. Have a blessed day.

Thanks

FOSTV Challenge 3/2012 - Use Color Pencils

WOW I can't believe it is already 3 weeks into the new year, I hope everyone's new year is going well so far. Friends of SpeedyTV would like to see you make a card using only colored pencils. We are all so comfortable with our Copic Markers we tend to forget about other coloring options. You can find all kinds of techniques to use your colored pencils with so give it a try.

For my card I am using Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co, January stamp release Love Remains for this card. This is such an awesome set and is so versatile. I stamped my image onto a white die cut and then colored it with my Prismacolor Pencils. I then took that die cut and mounted it to a different pink die cut. I then stamped my sentiment onto yet another die cut. I finished off the card with cream colored pearl pen dots.

On the inside I mounted some white cardstock and then stamped my sentiment and a leaf image and colored with my colored pencils. I hope you enjoyed my card. Thanks for stopping and commenting, I hope to see you again soon. Make sure to check out Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co, monthly blog hop starting tomorrow for your chance to win one of the new releases for January. Now it is your turn to play along, looking forward to seeing what you create for us. Have a Blessed day.

Thanks

HSI# 30 - White on White and/or Glitter

Good Morning Fellow Stampers,

Welcome to our weekly challenge with Heart Song Inspirations. This weeks challenge is to make a card using white on white cardstock and/or to use glitter. You would think this would be an easy challenge, but let me tell you this was so difficult for me.

For my card of course I used white cardstock for my base and my layers. I took the base of my card and embossed it with my fancy flowers embossing folder. I chose to use Love You Tons from Heart Song Designs  for my image. I colored my image with crayons (you heard me crayons). I tried this new technique using crayons and then softened it with baby oil. I really liked how it turned out. I cut my image out using a die cut and then glittered the edges of the die cut with silver glitter. I finished off the card with grey ribbon and heart gemstones.

On the inside of my card I used a computer generated sentiment. My dad said this to my mom everyday they were married and since I am missing my dad so terribly I thought this would be a great sentiment to use with this card. I hope you enjoyed my card. Then I added some red corner edges. Thanks for stopping and commenting, I hope to see you again. Make sure to stop by the blog to join the fun.

Thanks
