SP and Company DT Call Project

I have found a new stamp company that I found to be very fresh and exciting. This post is my official application for their next design team call. Although I do not own any of their stamps yet I look forward to obtaining some. One thing I have found that they are very affordable and clean and crisp. Their stamps are fun, energetic and original. I really like the set where you can build your own gingerbread man.

For this project I used Stampin Ups flower punch and punched out all kinds of flowers in different colored cardstock, I then taped them as background to a blue piece of cardstock. Then I used Stampin Up's When I grow up stamp set to make my Mother's Day card. Finally I adhered it to a cream color stock paper.

Thanks for visiting, I hope you enjoyed it.

ODBDSLC54 Frame It - Thinking of You

ODBDSLC54 Frame It

This weeks challenge: "Frame It" Create a Frame or stamp a frame for your image or sentiment . Please do not just put a layer of card stock around your image or sentiment and call it a frame.

I have been having some really tough times loaded with a lot of stress. I was home from work sick today and thought I would make a card that expressed what I was feeling. Although I was not thinking of anyone specific, it was on my mind of how I was hoping someone was thinking about me and had me in their thoughts and prayers. Even though I can't share all that I am dealing with God knows my heart and my desires.

On this card, I chose ODBD scripture stamp that expressed what I was thinking the most today and framed it according to the challenge. I added some ribbon and buttons along with a stamp from Stampin Up's Sincere Salutations stamp set. I placed it on some Creative Memories antique paper and mounted the entire thing on some maroon cardstock.

To make the challenge even more fun, we will be giving out a prize, a $ 15 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs store!! Entries for the prize must be submitted by Thursday, March 31. One random winner will be chosen and announced next Saturday. If you are not using ODBD stamps, please do not enter more than once. Additional entries without using ODBD stamps will not be commented on or will they qualify for prizes.

While it is not required to use Our Daily Bread Designs images and sentiments on your creations, we would love to see them if you have them.As a way of recognizing those who do use Our Daily Bread Designs stamps, we will again be choosing 1 to 2 creations to spotlight for our Shining the Light Award. ODBD FRAME IT CHALLENGE

ODBDSLC54 Frame It

This weeks challenge: "Frame It" Create a Frame or stamp a frame for your image or sentiment . Please do not just put a layer of card stock around your image or sentiment and call it a frame.

With this card I chose my favorite colors hunter green as my base and sage green as my layer. I was having such bad day today I needed to find something that would make me feel better. What better than doing what I love. For this challenge you needed to stamp or create a frame, unfortunately since I am new to ODBD I did not have any of their frame stamps so I chose an old one that I had and made the bird from an ODBD stamp the focus along with Happy Birthday. I finished the card off with some colorful gems and flowers

To make the challenge even more fun, we will be giving out a prize, a $ 15 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs store!! ODBD SCRAPBOOK CHALLENGE

Week 3 {ODBDLYLS3} Scrapbook Challenge

Hello everyone! It's time for some more inspiration for the ODBD Let Your Light Shine Scrapbook Challenge! For March, we are challenging you to use:

**fuchsia flowers or the color fuchsia for the 3rd anniversary flower OR
**crystal or glass for the anniversary modern gift (this can be faux crystal gems, a glass embellishment, etc.), AND
**ODBD stamps!

I used several different ODBD stamps from different sets. I chose some fuchsia flowers and some of my favorite verses from the bible.

I chose to use one of my favorite subjects on this 12x12 page, my oldest daughter. I used crystal effects from Stampin up to cover the flowers and give it a more glassy look. I placed them all on fuchsia cardstock and finished it all off with some crystal accents.

Prayer Journal

I have been dealing with a lot of stress in my life and it has been wearing on me and my health. Every day I think to myself I need to start journaling again. Then I began to think what can I do to make it more interesting?

I was going trough some old scrap booking magazines and saw so many neat ideas that I can wait to try. I saw two different ideas one was for a prayer journal and the other was for a bridal shower notebook. I liked both ideas but wanted something different so I thought why not merge the two.

First I started by purchasing a spiral journal and covered it with some wall paper samples. Once it was covered I used my new favorite toy the CRICUT. I used different fonts for my lettering. Once I placed the lettering on the notebook where I wanted I added some of my favorite verses from Our Daily Bread Designs. I then added some pearls to the lettering just to give it a pop. I finished it off buy adding two different colored ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon to make the spiral more attractive. I was very pleased with how it turned out. I can't wait to start journaling in it.

I loved making this and would be willing to make one for anyone. I would be more than happy to take orders.

MANY THANKS

Tonight I had one of my dearest friends over for fellowship and we decided to make cards. She has never made cards before so it was fun to create something new with her.

First I stamped on pink card stock (Sweet n Sassy) Distress backgrounds on the base of the card. Then I chose spring colors lavendar, and yellow. I then knotted a colorful ribbon from really reasonable ribbons and taped it to the card. Then using (Stampin Ups) Sketch it stamp set I stamped the heart with (Stampin Up) Orchid Opulence ink pad then I stamped over the heart with the one of the text stamps from the same set with (Stampin Up) basic black ink pad. Also from the same stamp set I added the text "Thanks" and used dimensionals to make it pop out at you. I finished the card off with some spring colored brads.

I have so many ideas running around in my head I can't wait to get them down and post for you all to see. I hope you all enjoy

Spring is in the Air

With Spring just around the corner I thought what a better time to make a Spring card. With this card I used Mustard, pink, yellow and white cardstock. I used a yellow and purple ribbon from Really Reasonable ribbon. Scripture verse stamp is from The Angel Company and the flower stamps is from "Something to Celebrate (stampin up)" and "Wonderful Words II (stampin up). The scripture verse was stamped in Palette ink (Claret). I also stamped background stamps on the front of the card with Brilliance Pearescent Yellow. And to top things off I added some flower brads.

Happy Fathers Day

I have always struggled with masculine cards. I can never choose the right stamp set or the right colors. I hope this one is ok.

On this card I chose a dark brown and a mustard color paper to accent. I used the "Angler stamp set from Stampin up" and Close To Cocoa ink pad from Stampin Up.

Baby Announcement Card

So I bought these anouncement cards when I was having my last child. I forgot all about them until I pulled out a lot of my stamping stuff that has been packed for almost 5 years now. I was looking at them and thought to myself why did I buy these they are so plain and boring. Then I began to wonder if they would fit inside another card. After a little trimming it fit like a glove.

I chose two subtle shades of pink for this card since the insert was for a girl. First I background stamped  the front of the card with a stamp from "A New Little Someone (stampin up) with stampin ups pretty in pink ink pad. Then I stamped feet and hands from "I'M Here (stampin up)" and with Brilliance Pearlescent Orchid ink pad and mounted them to the card. Then I added some baby embellishments to top it off.

Since the inserts came with envelopes I stamped with the pearlescent ink a stamp from the " A New Little Someone (stampin up)" on the outside of the envelope.

Alina's First Trip to the ZOO

This scrapbook page is Alina's first trip to the Zoo. We took her to the Brookfield Zoo in Chicago, IL. It was an adventure. This particular page is from the Dolphin show. I thought what better color to use for the Dolphins than an aqua blue. I also added some gems and a yellow flower to brighten it up a little.

BIGGEST LOSER

Tomorrow at work we start our annual Biggest Loser Challenge.
We have it every year and I join every year. Unfortunately I either end up pregnant or like last year I lost 1 pound. At least it wasn't a gain. I am not sure if I will sign up for it this year even though they have some pretty good prizes. When I saw this stamp from Stampin Up it reminded me of all the years I attempted to lose weight and did not succeed. I am sure all you woman can attest to this in some fashion. Enjoy the card

Happy St Patrick's Day

Being Irish and married to an Irish man I thought what could be more fitting than to post one of my Happy St Patrick's Day cards.

This card was made using a St Patrick Day set from The Angel Company. It is one of my earlier works but it is one of my favorites. Don't forget to wear you green on St Patty's day. I will be wearing mine proudly. Please tell me your comments and ideas of how I might be able to adapt this card.

MY FIRST MIRACLE BABY

A year had past and I could not believe my little angel was already a year old. Her first photo shoot was not very successful. She is 4 years old now and I am just now working on her scrapbook.

One night at a scrapbooking crop for Creative Memories I saw the most beautiful paper that I thought was perfect for her one year pictures. I wish I could give you the name of the paper pack but I was unable to find it in the catalog.

WHO SAYS STAMPING IS ONLY FOR CARDS

Stamping is not just for card and scrap booking. A neat gift idea at Christmas or any Holiday for that matter is candles. One year for Christmas I made all my coworkers a candle similar to this one only with Christmas stamps.

First you stamp what image you want on tissue paper. Be very careful tissue paper is not like stamping on cardstock, it is not very forgiving. You can stamp an image and your favorite verse or saying and then color if necessary then cut the image out. You don't want to cut closely to the image you want to have some left around the image. Then you attach your image to the size candle you wish with decopage (dries clear) once it is dry you are ready to wrap it up. A very inexpensive gift from the heart.

BLEACH BY DESIGN

With this card I encorporated embossing with bleaching.

After I stamped the image and embossed it with the color I wanted then I took my auqapen and filled it with bleach. You have to be very careful when bleaching the area you want to avoid getting bleach in areas you don't want. Then you just color the rest of the image with marker the color of your choice. Put the card together and there you have it.
