Week 4 {ODBDLYLS4} Scrapbook Challenge!

Greetings everyone I hope you are all having a wonderful Saturday. The weather was not to bad here in Wisconsin, a little chilly but nice enough for the kids to go out and play. I spent several hours today with my good friend Chris just playing with our stamping and scrapbooking. With Mothers Day coming every mom needs to be able to get out and play once in a while too.

This page is my second submission for the Our Daily Designs Scrapbooking challenge.

I found two pictures from one of our trips to the Milwaukee County Zoo that were just stunning and fit the parameters for the contest I just could not resist. My scripture verses are from ODBD Scripture Collection 1 and Scripture Collection 3. I started with a subtle color of yellow, then I made three strips of a pale blue with butterflies on it and mounted those onto a lite green paper and scalloped the edges on two of them. They I mounted my pictures and scripture verses on a little bit darker shade of green paper along with some embellishments. To top the page off I added some flowers and leaves with pearl gems.

Just a Note

I love my girls so much. Every time I sit down to do a project whether it be a card or a scrapbook my oldest always wants to sit and color with me. When I am done with a project my two older girls (Alina 4, Miranda 3) tell me what a beautiful card Momma, even when I don't think it turned out to well or I don't like it they are so supportive to tell me it is beautiful. I wish some days that I could look at the world through the eyes of a child there is no hatred in their heart, they love everyone and everything, and they are so kind at that age.

Stamps:          Heart Song Designs - Bird and Rose
                      Stampin Up - Mini Mates

Ink:                TAC - Forget Me Not
                     Stampin Up Chalks
Cardstock:    White, Sky blue, Plum

With this card first I took my blender pen and colored the image with my chalks. Once the image was colored I cut out the image and what I could not cut our I colored with blue chalk to make it look like the sky, I then mounted the image onto sky blue cardstock and took my chalks once again and made clouds as if the background of the sky. Then I took my plum cardstock and cut two slits in it and weaved my cardstock with the image on it through the slits. Then I stamped images from Stampin Up's Mini Mates stamp set on to white cardstock with my TAC Forget Me Not ink pad and brushed the edges with the same ink. Then I  punched them out with my 1 1/4 circle and square punches. Then with my 1 3/8 punches I punched out blue background pieces. I mounted those onto the card with pop ups and I finalized the card with some clear gems.

Whimsy Tree

I hope that everyone has had a good day so far. The day has not been a very good one for me. I was feeling so depressed due to issues with my former employer, their lies and them denying my unemployment, that I felt like going to bed and never getting up again. I was so depressed that I could not get motivated to do anything. I have lots to do at my house that has been neglected due to me working but I can't even get the motivation to do that. I forced myself to work on the countless stamping projects I have going and once I did I started to feel better, the more I did the better I felt. You know what they say stamping is cheaper than therapy :). I have decided that I am not going to let them get me down. Those people that hate me so much that they are punishing my children will have to answer for their actions on the judgement seat of Christ.

This card was fun and whimsical hence the title.

Stamps: Heart Song Designs - Whimsy Tree
             TAC - Cuttie Pies
             Stampin Up - Mini Mates
Ink:       Kaleidacolor Spectrum and Nostalgial ink pads
             Stampin Up - Bravo Burgundy

Technique: With this card I took the Kaleidacolor ink pads and my blender pen and I colored the Whimsy Tree image. Then I stamped the cuttie pie images on a separate sheet of cardstock. Then I stamped the sentiment on the base of the card.
Paper: Gray, brown, cream

Lean on Me

I have never used digital stamps before in all the years I have been stamping. I have been partial to Stampin Up stamps, but since I started designing for Heart Song Designs I have found a new love. I have spent the day working with some wonderful digital stamps.

Stamp set: Heart Song Design - Mushroom and Catapillar, Stampin Up Lean on Me
Technique: colored image with Stampin Up Chalks
Paper: blue, yellow, sage, White.
Ribbon: Really Reasonable Ribbon, green grossgrain

Gratitude and Love

I hope every one's day is going well. It is lunch time and we are working on feeding the kids and getting them down for their naps. I love this new card I have to share with you. It turned out better than I had hoped. I hope you all enjoy it.

This card was made with Stampin Up's Morning Soft stamp set. First I embossed the flower image on the cream colored cardstock with black embossing powder. Then I took a 2 way glue pen and filled in the areas that were not embossed (the flower) with pink glitter and (the leaves) with green glitter. This has such a popping effect I was so excited. then I took the sentiment and embossed that as well with black embossing powder. Once it all dried I added layers of pink and sage green for a little more color and then put the whole layers on white cardstock which was my base color. On the inside I did the same thing with the sentiment. To finalize the outside of my card I added some pink and sage green square gems for effect.

I hope you like the card. Thank you for visiting and have a Blessed Day!!!

Resurrection Card

Good Morning everyone and happy Tuesday! Even though Resurrection Day was Sunday and today is Tuesday I still wanted to do a Resurrection Card. I got this stamp set from Our Daily Bread Designs and I could not wait to create with it. I look forward to making more projects with this set.

With this card, I used ODBD stamp set He Will Rise I embossed the cross with Red Metallic finish embossing powder and brushed the edges with Stampin Up's Pink Passion stamp pad. I also stamped the scripture verse with the same ink. I used my cuttlebug embossing folder and embossed the pink paper and then added the images to the top of the pink cardstock. I wrapped purple and gold really reasonable ribbon around the pink cardstock added gold brads and finished it up by putting it on a plum colored cardstock.  Since Purple is a significant color in the Bible I thought what other color would be more fitting.

Thanks for visiting, I hope you will come back, Have a Blessed Day.

See What a Morning

Keith and Kristyn Getty are one of my favorite Christian Contemporary artists. I first saw them at Moody Bible Institutes Founders Week a couple of years ago. Ever since I have fallen in love with their music. We sing their songs at our church. This is such a beautiful depiction of Resurrection Day which we celebrated yesterday.

Week 3 {ODBDLYLS4} Scrapbook Challenge!

For this scrapbook challenge I chose to make a 12x12 layout. My inspiration was my 2nd little angel Miranda. I love the vibrant blues in the picture so I chose to use a deep blue for the page. Since the challenge was to use flowers I chose to mount the pictures on flowered paper from Creative Memories.  I used two scripture verses as the focus of this page. The main verse Isaiah 41:10 is from Our Daily Bread Designs Scripture Collection 1. I thought it was fitting since Miranda was so afraid of the water and would not let go of her daddy. The second scripture verse I chose to use was just as fitting, it just supported the first verse so well, this verse I used from Our Daily Bread Designs God Loves You stamp set. With the inspiration being flowers, butterflies and all things Spring, I used the butterfly stamp from Our Daily Bread Designs Don't Worry. I added several vibrant colors of flowers with jewels. I touched it up with some stickers of bees and flies which are so prevalent in the springtime. I hope you enjoyed seeing my beautiful angel and my layout.

Speedy Cat Challenge #51 (Freindship)

Good Morning everyone, Happy Good Friday. This card was for Mark's Finest Papers Challenge #51
For this card I used Stampin Up's Bud Basics and Stampin Up's Garden Stamps. On Rose colored paper I stamped the solid flower stamp with Stampin Up's Regal Rose ink pad, then I stamped the outline flower over that image with Stampin Up's Pink Passion ink pad. Then I stamped the same images on white cardstock and added the sentiment about friendship from the Garden Stamp set.  I finished the card off with some rose colored buttons at each corner.  The rules were as follows.

Congratulations

Happy Hump Day everyone!,

I have been without a computer since last Saturday and I have felt cut off from the world. I was not able to check my blog, email or facebook. We just got our computer back today and now it is time to post. My current card is for the the design team of Heart Song Designs. Since wedding season is fast approaching us I thought what a better card to make with this beautiful image than a wedding congratulations card.

With this card I chose a sparkled Natural Cardstock from The Angel Company. I cut out a square box from the middle of the card stock and placed the Heart Song Design - Love Birds digital stamp. I used Great Greetings from Stampin Up for the sentiment stamp. To keep in touch with the color scheme I used the Brilliance ink pad Galaxy Gold for the word sentiments. I colored the stamp with colored pencils and added some gold Champaign flute die cuts to the card. I finished the card off with some white flowers from Petaloo floral doodles.

Thanks for visiting I hope you enjoyed your time. God Bless and hope to see you back soon.

Happy Mothers Day

One last card before I turn in for the night. I created this card for several different challenges. I have been blog hopping a lot this week and I have come to love the color purple now. Stampin Sisters in Christ (stampinsistersinchrist.blogspot.com) submitted this challenge:   Challenge: Use shades of purple as your main color AND/OR use wood paper or elements on your card/project.

Make sure to stop by their blog and check out everyone elses submissions.

Marks Finest Papers submitted this challenge:  This week on Speedy's Challenge, Harriett has challenged us to use the Emboss Resist Technique. (I have linked directions in case you haven't tried this very cool, easy technique).  Here are the DT's cards for your inspiration: (just click on the DT's name for further information regarding their card)

I was so excited when I saw this challenge. This was a technique I have never seen before but could not wait to try.

Finally the last challenge was from Split Coast Stampers:
The Challenge.
PEOPLE

Details.
Use a person on your project. An adult, or child, all people are included.

Tips. (suggestions)
1. showcase one person or multiple
2. use a face only
3. use a part of a person's body

Please remember to put WT318 in your keywords section and post a link back here so that we can all see your beautiful creations. Feel free to create as many projects as you wish but keep in mind that this is not a contest. Use this challenge as inspiration and hopefully you see your creativity flourish. You can combine this challenge with another

My sample: Hey There

WT318 Gallery Submissions: HERE

I will do my very best to comment on each and every project but there may be times that I simply will not be able to.

Now for the details of my card. First I stamped from Stampin Up Maternal Insticts with VersMark ink onto white cardstock. Then I embossed the image with Rbber Dub Dub Red Pearl embossing powder. Then using the embossing resist technique I chose to use Orchid Opulence from Stampin Up for the background color.  Since one of the challenges was to focus on the color purple I chose three sades of purple for this card (plum, purple and lavendar cardstock). Since Mothers Day is fast approaching I chose to make this a Mother's Day card. I used the words from Stampin Up's When I Grow Up stamp set. I added a little white lace to the bottom of the card and some pearls to make it a little bit more elegant.

Thanks for visiting, come back soon. Have a Blessed Day

Heart Song Designs

Happy Thursday Everyone, Hope you all had a great day. Today my card if for Heat Song Designs which is digital stamp company. I will be joining their design team and this is my first card for them. They are starting a new program. Every Monday they will post a free digital stamp to play around with.

Monday Freebie!

With my card I chose an olive green cardstock. I printed off the flower and colored the flowers with Stampin up chalks using a blender pen. Once I was finished with that I punched the edges of the paper with  Creative Memories scalloped edge punch. On the base of my card I stamped flowers from Stampin Up's Bud Basics with Stampin Up Old Olive ink pad. I chose to make this a birthday card so I used the word stamp from TAC Rose SEntiments. To add some flare I used sage green lace and peach ribbon and added a little bling of gemstones.

I hope you enjoyed the card and Thanks for visiting Have a Blessed Day.

Relying on the Lord

This is a different kind of post for me today. It has been a really rough week since last Friday. Work has been horrible and I have been stressed and was concerned that I would be fired. Well that became a reality today. With Liam not working and now me being unemployed (which was our only source of income) I am more stressed and scared than ever. Last night at AWANA I was reading Psalm 119, and God could not have hit me any harder with His word. God is great and we are trusting in Him. We know this is God's will and he kept me at this particular job (I will not mention names, I will not give them any publicity) and now he has something better in store for us. Please pray that my husband and I will find employment and that my husband who is a Pastor will find a Pastorate. I did not like who I was becoming when I worked there, I found myself falling into worldly ways and not trusting in my heavenly father. Praise God in this storm, I know he will lift me up, and will not forsake me for I am his.

Psalm 119

Your Word Is a Lamp to My Feet

Aleph

119:15 I will meditate on your precepts
and fix my eyes on your ways.
16 I will delight in your statutes;
I will not forget your word.

119:27 Make me understand the way of your precepts,
and I will meditate on your wondrous works.

119:37 Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things;
and give me life in your ways.
119:48 I will lift up my hands toward your commandments, which I love,
and I will meditate on your statutes.

119:50 This is my comfort in my affliction,
that your promise gives me life.

119:61 Though the cords of the wicked ensnare me,
I do not forget your law.

119:67 Before I was afflicted I went astray,
but now I keep your word.

119:69 The insolent smear me with lies,
but with my whole heart I keep your precepts;

119:78 Let the insolent be put to shame,
because they have wronged me with falsehood;
as for me, I will meditate on your precepts.

119:85 The insolent have dug pitfalls for me;
they do not live according to your law.

119:86 All your commandments are sure;
they persecute me with falsehood; help me!

119:87 They have almost made an end of me on earth,
but I have not forsaken your precepts.

119:98 Your commandment makes me wiser than my enemies,

119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet
and a light to my path.

119:106 I have sworn an oath and confirmed it,
to keep your righteous rules.

119:107 I am severely afflicted;
give me life, O Lord, according to your word!

119:110 The wicked have laid a snare for me,
but I do not stray from your precepts.

119:115 Depart from me, you evildoers,
that I may keep the commandments of my God.

119:117 Hold me up, that I may be safe
and have regard for your statutes continually!

GUEST LIST

Hello everyone, I hope you had a better day today than I did. I came home with so much excitement to get working on some projects that keep running through my head, but when I went to sit down and play with my cards and scrapbook pages all my energy just faded away. Oh well tomorrow is another day.

I made this scrapbooking page with my Cricut (which I love) and a stamp set that I bought from Hobby Lobby. I made this page for my supervisor at work. Her daughter is pregnant and having a baby shower. This page is all ready for her guests at the shower to sign and when the shower is over she can just add this page to a scrapbook of the shower. I am having so much fun playing with my Cricut and I can't wait to learn more. I know the U is backwards on this page and I have fixed it before my boss takes it to the shower, but you all get the jist of the page.

Thanks for visiting! Have a Blessed Day!
