Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge #88 - Use a Snowflake

Happy Saturday,

Welcome to the last challenge for 2011 and the last challenge for Speedy the Cat. You heard me right this is the last challenge for Speedy the Cat. Starting in 2012 we will now be having our challenges with Speedy the Fox. With the new owners we have a new mascot so watch for him. So the final challenge with Speedy the Cat is to use a snowflake, any snowflake (punch, die cut, designer paper) whatever tickles your fancy.

This week for my card I am using Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co. Country Christmas stamp set. I colored my image with prisma colored pencils. I am also using Mark's snow storm cardstock for the base of my card. I embossed the base of my card with my Sizzix snowflake embossing folder and them brushed the raised edges with baby blue ink. i then mounted my image to a dark blue cardstock and then punched out with my snowflake die cut a snowflake in white and in the dark blue cardstock. I mounted my picture to the base of my card and then the snowflakes I layered onto of each other and then mounted to my card. I finished off my card with some tri-tone ribbon using brads and a clip.

Since my new thing is to finish the inside of my cards now, I was simple with this card. I stamped my sentiment and then added a blue snowflake. I hope you enjoyed my card. Thanks for stopping and commenting. Have a wonderful and safe New Year, We will see you next year. Have a blessed day.

Thanks
Debbie

Winter Crocus

Happy Friday,

Can you believe that there is less than 2 days left in 2011? From my perspective I will be glad this year is over considering how horrible it was.

For my card today I am doing a card for SCS CAS challenge from a couple of weeks ago. This is the first time I have made a card like this so considering it turned out alright. I am using my Winter Crocus stamp set from Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co that was release this December. I chose my favorite color green for the base of my card. I cut the card in a octagon shape and then layered designer paper in the same design. I colored my image with my colored pencils. I layered my image onto a lavender cardstock and then mounted it to my card. I finished the card off with ribbon, a buckle and buttons.

On the inside of the card I layered the same designer paper from the from and added my image onto white cardstock and then to the card. I hope you enjoyed my card. Thanks for stopping and commenting I hope to se you again soon. Have a blessed day.

Thanks
Debbie

Friends of SpeedyTV Challenge Week 13

Hello Fellow Stampers,

I hope you all had a wonderful and Blessed Christmas. The best Christmas present I could ever have wished for is my 3 year old little girl home from the hospital and recuperating. She spent 5 days this past week in the ER and in the hospital. She was so sick we were so worried about her getting better. She came home from the hospital 2 days before Christmas, What a blessing.

With Christmas behind us and the Christmas cards with them, there are so many other fun winter cards you can create. This week with Friends of SpeedyTV  our challenge to you is to make a winter card and/or use the color blue.

For my card this week I chose to use two shades of blue to make my card. I decided to do a fold card which I think is really fun and easy. I layered my dark blue, white and designer paper on the inside of my card. I heat embossed my sentiment on the inside of my card with candy blue embossing powder, along with my sentiment on my tab. I heat embossed my snowflakes with white embossing powder onto my dark blue paper and then cut them out and mounted them to the flap of my card. I finished off the card by stamping my dear onto the tag of my card. I am also entering this card into the DRS Designs challenge this week as well. I hope you enjoyed my card. Make sure to stop by SpeedyTV and join in on the fun. Thanks for stopping and commenting, I hope to see you again. Have a blessed day.

Thanks
Debbie

Speedy the Cat's Friends #87 Anything Goes

Hello Fellow Stampers,

Welcome to a brand new week of challenges with Speedy the Cat. This weeks challenge is to make and anything goes card. With Christmas tomorrow and the New Year next week the possibilities are endless.

For my card since my daughter was in the hospital all week I wanted to do a thank you card for some of the gifts she got. I chose to make a soft color combo for the card. The base is a pale pink, layered with mint green and designer paper and topped off with a cream colored die cut. I am using Mark's Finest Papers  Happy Pansies stamp set for the image on my card. For the sentiment I used an old retired set from Mark's called Sand, Surf, Relax. I colored my image using my Copic Markers. I finished off the card with some peach pearls. Even though I have gotten into the habit of finishing the inside of my card I didn't do that this time. I am also submitting this card to the MoJo Monday challenge from this week. I hope you enjoyed my card. Thanks for stopping and commenting, I hope to see you again. Make sure to check out my blog candy time is running out to sign up for it. Have a blessed day.

Thanks
Debbie

Speedy the Cat #86 - Christmas Card

Happy Saturday Fellow Stampers,

You are not going to believe this but it is only 8 more days until Christmas. With that said welcome to Speedy the Cat's Friends challenge where we challenge you to make a Christmas card. I think Christmas cards are my all time favorite type of card to make. There are so many kinds of cards to make.

For my card today I am using one of Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co, December release sets for my card. I totally love this new set called New Pine, I used Christmas in the Country for the sentiment. I am using Deep Olive, Cherry Crush and cream colored cardstock from Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co. Since I am in this new creative mode of trying new kinds of cards I chose to try for the first time a Swing card. After messing up one piece of cardstock by scoring wrong (hope I can use as scrap paper) I was pleasantly surprised how well it turned out. I stamped my background on the olive cardstock with True Thyme ink. Then I stamped my image onto the cream colored cardstock and colored it with my Copic Markers. I then mounted it to my cherry slush cardstock and then to the base of my card.  I finished off the card with some green gems and some Christmas buttons. I hope you enjoyed my card. Make sure you stop by Mark's Finest Papers blog to join in on the fun. Thanks for stopping and commenting, I hope to see you again. Have a blessed day.

Thanks

Debbie

Friends of SpeedyTV Week 11

Hello SpeedyTV Friends,

Sorry I am so late getting my card for this challenge up but better late than never. This weeks challenge for Friends of SpeedyTV is to make a Christmas card. I have been going wild with Christmas cards so here is my card for this weeks challenge.

For my card this week I am using Covered Bridges and Christmas in the Country from Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co. I am stamp lifting this idea from one of my fellow MFP DT members. I cut an opening in the base of my card which I used Cherry Slush with one of my die cuts. Then I stamped my white cardstock with my image and colored it with Copic Markers and finished off the image with glitter, then added it to the opening of my card. Then I stamped my sentiment onto the base of my card. I finished off my card with red and green ribbon and green gems.

I am also submitting this card to DRS Designs challenge to use Red, White and Green. I hope you enjoyed my card, thanks for stopping and commenting. I hope to see you again soon. Have a blessed day.

Thanks
Debbie

Mark's Finest Papers

Hello and Welcome to the last day of the December Blog Hop here are Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co. Today we are focusing another one of our December releases New Pines. This is a beautiful versatile stamp set that was fun to play with.

For my card I used Evergreen cardstock from Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co, along with Cherry slush and Snow Storm. I started out by embossing the base of my card with my snowflake embossing folder by Cuttlebug. Once I did that I stamped my image and sentiment onto my snow storm cardstock with VersaMark. Then I took my chalks and colored the image and sentiment. I took some tree Christmas ribbon and mounted to the base of my card. Then I added diamond gems to the snowflakes to give them a little Umf. Once that was done I mounted my image and sentiment to the cherry slush cardstock and them mounted them to the base of my card with pop dots.

On the inside of my card I added white cardstock and then stamped my image and sentiment with VersaMark and then colored them with my chalks. I hope you enjoyed the hop and my card. Thanks for commenting. I hope to see you again. Make sure to check out the challenges on SpeedyTV. Don't forget to stop back by tomorrow to see if you are the new owner of one of these fabulous stamp sets. Good Luck to everyone and we will see you next month. Have a blessed day.

Thanks
Debbie
