Tutorial Time on SpeedyTV #5 - Postive/Negative Masking

Happy Friday,

I don't know about you but the past couple of days have been so hot I feel like I am on the sun. (Yes I know the sun is hotter) I hope those who are dealing with the same heat are enduring it.

Welcome to another episode with Tutorial Time on SpeedyTV. This week Lagene created our tutorial Positive/Negative Masking. This was a hard one for me. I really struggled making this card. I didn't have all the supplies that you needed so I had to improvise. I created my card using Marks Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co "Silly Shells" stamp set and my brand new I just got in the mail "Sand Dollar" stamp set I got from the card swap on SpeedyTV.

This weeks free stamp set that one lucky winner will get is an oldie but a goodie. This is a very versatile stamp set that you can use for so many different things.

"A Walk In The Woods"

I hope you enjoyed my card. Thanks for stopping and commenting. I hope to see you again soon.

Now it is your turn to show us what you can create with this great tutorial. You have until 07/05/12  at 11:00 pm. Remember if you use a Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co stamp set your submission will be entered twice.

Wow think of all the possibilities you now have to win a free stamp set, You have Speedy Fox and Friends Challenge, Friends of SpeedyTVchallenge, the monthly blog hop and now Tutorial Time On SpeedyTV Challenges.

On Tuesday 07/03/12 we will have a new sketch with a twist challenge and Wednesday 07/04/12 we will have a new Simple Salutations Challenge which means more chances to win a free stamp set. Make sure to tell your friends.

Speedy Fox and Friends #113 - Score Lines

Hello Speedy Fox Friends,

Welcome to another fun challenge with Speedy Fox and Friends. This weeks challenge is to make a card that has score lines on it. If you don't have a scoring tool, you can use your paper cutter and a bone folder, or a ruler and a bone folder.

For my card I used Marks Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co "Train Talk" stamp set. I used an olive card stock for the base. I took Chocolate Chip card stock and mounted designer paper to it then stamped my image onto that. I added a banner with my sentiment and then finished the card off with Viva Pearl Pen brown dots.

Tutorial Time on SpeedyTV #4 - Heat Embossing

Happy Friday,

Welcome to another episode with Tutorial Time on SpeedyTV. What a great week we had last week. Great tutorial Lois. This week our tutorial is simple and easy and anyone can participate. We are doing a Heat Embossing card. I know you are probably saying "Seriously everyone knows how to do that!" Well the office at Marks Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co has had several calls from beginner stampers wanting to know how to do it, so here we go. Here is the tutorial I created for you as a base to go by. Those of you who have been stamping for ages I know you know what to do.

Embossing Tutorial

Supplies:
Paper Trimmer (not pictured)
Stamps
Card stock (White and Color)
Heat Gun
Embossing Powder
Ink
Embellishments (not pictured)
VersaMark
Embossing Buddy (optional)
Embossing Tray

Step One:

Take your white card stock and brush it with your embossing buddy (optional) to prevent static. If you don’t have an embossing buddy there are many other options. You can use a dryer sheet, an artist’s resin bag, I personally used my bowling resin bag.

Step Two:

Ink your image with VersaMark ink, and stamp onto your card stock.

Step Three:
Place your white card stock with your image on it into your embossing tray and add your embossing powder.  Remove the excess powder. (don’t forget to put the excess back into the jar)

Step Four:
Take your heat gun and heat set your image. (let cool before handling)

Step Five:
Cut base of card stock to the size you wish.

Step Six:
Finish card to your liking.

Be sure to swing on over to SpeedyTV to join the challenge and a chance to win this great stamp set.

"Tweet Blessing"

I hope you liked my card and enjoyed my tutorial. Thanks for stopping by and commenting, I hope to see you again next week. For more chances to win stamp sets from Marks Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co check out the Speedy Fox challenges and Friends of SpeedyTV challenges.  Check out SpeedyTV for all the fun, new and exciting things going on over there. Today's Featured Stamp Set today is

"Island Life"

Welcome to day three of our June blog hop. We have another Fantastic stamp set to show you today. This stamp set is called "Island Life". The versatility of this stamp set is amazing.

For my first card today I created something a little different. I used an every day legal envelope for the base of my card instead of card stock.

Here is the back

This is the side flap

Here is the insert

 The front of the card

For my second card I made a little more CAS and with a patriotic theme, since yesterday was the first day of summer.

I hope you enjoyed my cards today. Thank you for stopping and commenting. I hope you come back soon. Remember to comment so that you can qualify to win this or one of the other stamp sets we are showcasing this week. Be sure to come back tomorrow for the last installment of our June releases, trust me you will not be disappointed.

Thanks

Envelope Card

Good Afternoon Everyone,

I got a lot of comments and questions about this card so I thought I would put a tutorial together for you. Enjoy.

Envelope Card
By: Debbie Moran

Supplies:
Legal size envelope (ones with a flat tab works best)
Card Stock
Adhesive
Coloring tools
Ink
Paper cutter
Pen
Ruler
Designer Paper

Step One:
Draw a line on the flap fold of your envelope using your ruler and pen.  This will help you see better when you need to cut it.

Step Two:
Take your ruler and mark dots at 2 ¼ and 7 ¼.

Step Three:
Put Envelope in cutter and cut along envelope fold to your marks. Then cut off the rest of the flap.

Step Four:
Fold the bottom part of your envelope toward the center. The ends will not meet in the center.

Step Five:
Stamp background images onto the flaps and back of envelope, but not on the inside of the flaps.

 Step Six:
Cut your base card stock 4 ½ x 4. Layer to your liking.

Step Seven:
Tear bottoms of the two card stock. Do not tear the DP. Mount all three pieces together.

Step Eight:
Stamp and color your image onto white card stock and adhere to your layered base.

Step Nine:
Adhere your base to the flap of your envelope.

Step Ten (optional):
Stamp a sentiment on the inside of the flaps.

Step Eleven:
Cut from your layered cardstock 1 piece of 4 ¼, one 3 ¾ and one pice of white 3 ¾ x10/8. This will make the inside of your card. Mount all the pieces together.

Step Twelve:
Stamp sentiment or image on insert and color.  Finish card to liking.

I hope you enjoyed my tutorial today, this is a very simple and easy card to do and different from others. Thanks for stopping and commenting. I hope to see you again soon. Have a blessed day.
