Irish Blessing

Hello and Happy Hump Day,

Today I have a card for you that I created for the color challenge on SCS and also for DRS Designs to use a tag.

I love St. Patrick's Day, being Irish and married to a very Irish man (Liam) the cards are fun to make and the possibilities are endless. There are so many shades of green to use. I am sure there will be more to come between now and St. Patrick's Day.  Thanks for stopping and commenting. I hope you enjoyed my card and hope to see you again soon. Have a blessed day.

Thanks

Missing You Dad!!!

Hello Everyone,

I am back with another card for you today. I created this card for two reasons, First for the CAS challenge on SCS Second and most importantly I made this for my dad. I lost my dad 4 months ago and today is his birthday. I miss my dad terribly and all weekend working up to this day has been very hard. I think of the jokes he used to tell (he was a master joke teller) and how some were funny and some not so funny. Even if the joke was hilarious we tried not to laugh at them because that only encouraged him,. What made my dad even more funny is that he never smiled, he always had this serious look on his face. Growing up it scared the boys we would bring home to meet mom and dad. People tell me that it will get easier as time goes by, but I don't think it ever will. I am grateful for the time that I had with my dad. I am grateful that he was able to walk me down the aisle when I got married. I am grateful that my girls got to meet and know my dad although they are really young they will never forget who he was, I will make sure of that. I will remember my dad the most when it comes time to teach my kids to drive since that was my dad's favorite story to tell. When he was teaching me to drive I had no clue what I was doing and I was driving so bad that I was pulled over by the police. My dad jumped out of the car and gave the police officer a hug for saving him. So to my dad, the first man in my life, you will always be in my heart and I will miss you every day of my life.

For my card I made using Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co. "Love Remains" stamp set. I used the same technique I showed you in my first post today. The challenge for the SCS CAS challenge was to use Raspberry and White. I finished my card with gold ribbon and raspberry brads. I hope you enjoyed my card. Thanks for stopping and commenting. I hope to see you again soon. Have a blessed day.

Thanks

FOSTV # 9 - 2012 - Embossing

Happy Monday Everyone! You know what that means, it is time for another fun challenge with Friends of SpeedyTV. This week we are challenging you to make a card using any type of embossing. That means it could be heat embossing, using an embossing folder, it could be part of the card or it could be the whole card. Whatever tickles your fancy. The possibilities are endless.

Today I have chosen to make a card using bleach and embossing. I will have a tutorial for this technique soon so stay tuned. So I chose to use Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co. February stamp release "Dogwood Blossoms" for my image and sentiment. I am using a medium pink and white cardstock for my card. I punched my image out using my favorite Spellbinder Nestability. I mounted to my card and then added my sentiment using Pink Passion ink pad. I finished off my card with some pink gems.

On the inside of my card, I stamped another one of the blossoms and colored it with my Prismacolor Pencils and stamped my sentiment with the Pink Passion ink. I hope you enjoyed my card. Thanks for stopping and commenting, I hope to see you again soon. Be sure to stop by SpeedyTV to join in on the fun.

Speedy Fox #96 - Use Lace; CC363, WT363

Hello Fellow Stampers,

Happy Saturday and Welcome to another week of challenges with Speedy Fox. This week we are challenging you to make a card using lace. Use lace you say? The possibilities are endless.

For my card I chose to use Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co. February release "Blessings". I am also submitting this card to the color challenge and the ways to use it challenge on Split Coast Stampers. I stamped my image onto Labels Twenty-Two Nestabilities from Spellbinders, then I colored my image with Prismacolor Pencils. The color challenge was to use pale pink, medium pink and slate grey for your cardstock. I thought the pale pink would be perfect for the base of my card then I layered the grey and medium pink. I treaded my lace onto the medium pink cardstock and then mounted my image and then stamped my sentiment. I finished off my card with grey buttons.

I chose not to finish the inside of this card although that is my new thing. I hope you enjoyed my card. Thanks for stopping and commenting. Make sure to stop by the blog to join in on the fun. If you are looking for more fun with Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co stop by on Mondays to play along with the challenges with Friends of SpeedyTV.

FOSTV Challenge 8 - 2012 - Use Three Punches

Wow I am pooped after last weeks blog hop. I hope everyone enjoyed themselves and the creations everyone had. This week with Friends of SpeedyTV we are challenging you to make a card using at least 3 punches. Now I know we all love our dies so die cuts will count. Be sure to stop by SpeedyTV to check out the rest of the design teams creations.

This week I am showcasing another awesome technique from Technique Junkies. The technique is called "Layered Masking". This is a really fun technique and it looks amazing. I highly recommend subscribing if you don't already. Anyway back to my card. I stamped my background stamp onto my glossy white cardstock with Stazon Black ink. Then I followed the instructions using my Really Rust, More Mustard and Summer Sun ink pads to create the background. Then I stamped my images onto the background I just colored with stazon black. I chose to use Adirondack Mini stamp set from Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co. I then used my Martha Stewart corner punch and punched out the corners. Then I added yellow flower punches with brads before I mounted my scene to a green cardstock and then to the base of my card which is Late Afternoon Sun from Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co.  You must stop by the store and see all the wonderful paper, embellishments and stamp sets they have to offer.

On the inside of my card I stamped my image and sentiment with Basic Black ink. I hope you enjoyed my card. Thanks for stopping and commenting. I hope to see you again soon. We would love to see you participate in the challenge, so stop by SpeedyTV and check it out. Have a blessed day.

Speedy Fox and Friends Challenge #95 - Joy Fold Card

Wow what a busy week. First the blog hop and now a new challenge with Speedy Fox. This weeks challenge is to make a Joy fold Card. When I saw this I thought to myself what is a Joy fold Card? If you are thinking the same thing and want to participate in the challenge here is a link to a tutorial on SCS.

For my card I chose to use Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co February release Blessings. I stamped my image onto a greyish cardstock with Basic Black ink and then colored with my Copic Markers. I stamped my sentiments with Close to Cocoa ink. I chose to use Cameo Coral for the base of my card which was perfect when I found a DP with the same lilies and color. I am using a brown cardstock for the second layer of the card. I finished off my card with some brads. I hope you enjoyed my card this week. Thanks for stopping and commenting. I hope to see you again soon and maybe as a follower. Be sure to check out our challenges with the Friends of SpeedyTV for more fun with Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co.

Our February New Release Mini:
Spring Joy

Hello and Welcome the last day of our February Hop. We hope you enjoyed all the wonderful projects the design team had for you this week. Today we are showcasing our 4th and final stamp set for the month called "Dogwood Blossoms".

I can't believe another blog hop is coming to close. We had some great work this week and some AWESOME stamp sets to show you. We hope that you all enjoyed what we prepared for you. Today we are showcasing "Dogwood Blossoms", one of my favorite sets.

Again I am trying a new technique on my card today called Pastels on Black which you can find on Split Coast Stampers. I stamped my image onto black cardstock and then embossed using white embossing powder. I then took my water color pencils and colored in the image. Once thing I did not do with this is use my aqua painters to blend my color, I used my finger tip to just blend. I added some black and white gingham ribbon and a simple sentiment to the outside of the card and then mounted my black cardstock to Pink Passion cardstock and finally to white. I did not complete the inside of my card on this one. I hope you enjoyed my card and the hop this week. Thanks for stopping and commenting, I hope to see you again soon. Don't forget to stop by Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co blog tomorrow for the announcement of the winners of these great sets. Have a blessed day, see you next month.

Thanks
