Sneak Peek of Heart Song Designs

Happy Blessed Sunday Everyone,

As you all may know I am a designer for Heart Song Designs and I want to share with you all the fun and exciting things happening with this company. Every week from Monday to Sunday the blog group http://heartsonginspirations.blogspot.com  has a challenge that you really need to check out. In the month of August there are some great new images being released. After a lot of feedback to the company the owner Leah has now been adding complete sets to the store which now includes sentiments. I was so excited when she implemented this, making cards for the challenges was hard when we didn't have sentiments to complete the cards and I really like making my cards with the same company images. Below are the newest releases that you can find in the store for purchase and monthly with the challenge a free image is offered. Make sure to stop by the store and do a little shopping www.heartsongdesignsshop.com.

One other exciting thing going on is Heart Songs has an all new cast of designers who are very talented. I am so looking forward to working with them and getting some inspiration.

Thanks for visiting I hope you enjoyed yourself. Leave some love I really look foward to getting them. Have a blessed day!!!!

HSI #8 Dress

Hello everyone and welcome to this weeks Heart Song Inspirations http://heartsonginspirations.blogspot.com challenge. This weeks challenge is Anything goes/favorite technique. I really struggled with this challenge. I couldn't figure out what my favorite technique is. After thinking about it long and hard I came to the conclusion that my favorite technique would have to be water coloring. Since I am working on building my Copic marker collection I am limited in my coloring choices. I love the water coloring because you can use any color you want from the ink pads you own and it gives you so many different looks. Water coloring is very easy to do as well. You take your ink pad and before you open it you you squeeze the top onto the ink pad, this will give you a small amount of ink on the lid of your ink pad. Then you take your blender pen or aqua pen and dip it into the ink on the top of your lid. You can make the color as light or as dark as you want and then you color your image.

For my card I used Heart Song Designs newest image which can be located at the store (www.heartsongdesignsshop.com). This is a new type of set for Heart Song Designs, in which this stamp comes as a set with sentiments. Not only was I able to use this card for Heart Song's challenge I am also using this card for SCS Color Challenge CC332. The challenge was to use Chocolate chip, aqua green, and a baby blue colored cardstock. I colored my image with the watercoloring technique using Stampin Up's Basic Black, Mellow Moss, Bashful Blue, Bravo Burgundy and Close to Cocoa ink pads. Once I colored my image I thought the white cardstock was a little to bright for the card so I used coffee from this morning to antique the white to match the card better. I mounted the image onto Ancestry designer paper and then mounted that onto my baby blue card stock. Once this was all mounted to my chocolate cardstock base I added some coffee colored buttons and my sentiment. To top off the card I paper pierced the edges.

I hope you enjoyed the card and hope you will visit the Heart Song Inspirations blog to join the challenge. Thanks for stopping and looking, Have a blessed day!!!!

HSD #7 - Very Cherry Frame

Hello everyone and happy Monday,

My card for today is for Heart Song Designs http://heartsonginspirations.blogspot.com weekly challenge. Today's challenge is to use Lace AND/OR Color on kraft colored paper. For my card I chose to use HSD Very Cherry Frame image which I colored with Stampin Up markers (Old Olive, Petite Rose, Garden Green, Rose Red, Lovely Lilac, Green Galore, and Real Red). Once I colored the image I added a sentiment to the center of the image from Stampin Up's Friend to Friend stamp set. For my cardstock I chose SU craft colored cardstock along with red and olive green. I layered my image on the red and green cardstocks, then I placed my paper studio lace onto the base of my colored kraft cardstock and then added the image above that with pop dots. Once I mounted that to the base of the card I pierced around the image corners. Then using Stampin Up's small flower punch I punched out three little flowers and added it to the card and finished it off by adding hydrangia dew drops for effect. I hope you enjoyed the card.

Thanks for stopping, Have a blessed day!

Get Well Soon (CAS126)

Hello everyone,

I hope you are all having a good day. After a nasty thunderstorm this morning it has been so hot here it doesn't even feel like we have the air conditioner on. I am glad that we were not part of the 20,000 people in Kenosha county to be without power again. I think 22 hours 2 weeks ago is enough to last me a lifetime.

I made this card for two purposes today. Of course there is the Split coast stampers CAS challenge but most importantly I made this card for a very dear little girl from my church who is battling some debilitating illness right now. I am a T&T Awana leader at my church and I have become pretty close with this little girl and instead of having a summer full of fun, she is enduring countless trips to the doctor for more tests, the hospital for spinal taps and the list goes on. Last night at my church we had a dinner and a movie night and she is in so much pain that I couldn't even hug her or put my hand on her to comfort her. I hate to see such a young person endure so much. I made this card to cheer her up I thought it was a little fun and bright.

We have made a celebration lunch date at Panera Bread to celebrate when she is feeling better. I am so looking forward to it.  Please keep Emily and her family in your prayers for peace, and recovery.

For my card I chose an individual stamp that I got ions ago from the The Angel Company. I do not know the name of the stamp but I thought it was perfect for Emily,.  I chose white and hot pink for my cardstock. I punched out the edges with one of my Martha Stewart edge punches on the white and pink. I mounted those to the card in which I off set the fold in order to show off the detail. I punched the image onto white cardstock with Stampin Up's - Pink Passion ink pad then I mounted that to the hot pink cardstock. I also stamped from Stampin Up's - Mini Mates the sentiment with the same ink and mounted the same way. Using pop dots I mounted them to my card base. Then to make the card pop I added a small ribbon with pink and purple hearts.

I hope you enjoyed this very personal card. Thanks for visiting my blog. Have a blessed day.

HDS #6 - Hot Air Balloon

Hello everyone,

Sorry I have been so quite this week and the past two weeks. Things have been kinda stressful around here. My parents are not in very good health especially my dad and I have been really scared and concerned about that which has made me really foggy in the head not to mention all the other stresses going on in my life. I go to see my doctor this week to discuss whether I will be getting surgery soon to remove my parathyroid. After a long 5 months and many, many tests (most not too good) the odds are stacked against me. I am tired of surgeries, including two C-Sections I will have had 5 surgeries in 3 years. That is just crazy. Anyway onto my card for this week.

This card is for Heart Song Designs weekly challenge (http://heartsonginspirations.blogspot.com). The challenge this week is to make a card about summer and not to use any designer paper. I chose HSD's Hot Air Balloon image. I wanted the card to be bright and fun so I chose some bright colors for this card. I first started out with a bright orange for the base, then I colored the image the colors of my cardstock. I used Stampin Up's Green Galore, Stampede Orange, and my Copic markers G02, Y13, YR68. I used the green galore and the orange to background stamp sun images from Paper Studios Summer Fun stamp set along with the sentiment image. I layered my green cardstock onto the orange. After I had colored my image I mounted it onto yellow cardstock and then pierced the edges for affect, then I mounted the yellow cardstock to the base of the card. I finally using pop dots added the sentiment to the card.

I hope you all enjoyed the card, make sure to stop by the Heart Song Designs blog and play along.

Hopefully this week will be a little better and I will get some more projects done.

Have a Blessed Day!
