Bleach Embossing Tutorial

Hello Fellow Stampers,
Mark's Finest Papers and SpeedyTV are adding a new feature to SpeedyTV and their blog. We will now be showcasing a featured designer every week. I am honored and privledged to be the first featured designer. As a part of the featured designer all the Senior design team for Mark's Finest Papers, a Heinrich Co. will be creating tutorials for you to use and benefit from. For my very first tutorial ever I am showing you how to emboss using bleach. This is a cool and fun technique so I hope you enjoy it. Be sure to stop by SpeedyTV to check out all the other designers tutorials and stories. SpeedyTV also has challenges for you to participate in so check those out as well. Without further adu here is my tutorial, I hope you enjoy it. Have a blessed day.

Bleach Embossing
Artwork and Filming by

Supplies Needed:
  • Dark colored cardstock
  • Complimentary cardstock or Designer Paper
  • VersaMark stamp pad
  • Heat Gun
  • Embossing Powder (your choice of color)
  • Coloring tools (Copic Markers used here)
  • Stamps (open design works best)
  • Aqua Painter with bleach in it
Step One:
Take dark colored cardstock  and stamp your image with VersaMark.

Step Two:
Pour embossing powder on your image and heat set it with your heat tool. Be sure to tap off any excess powder.

Step Three:
Take your Aqua Painter with bleach in it and paint the embossed area that you want bleached.

Note: Do not let the bleach pool on your cardstock, it will bleed through the embossing.

Step Four:
Dry your bleach with your heat gun. The whiter you want the image to be the lighter the cardstock you should use.

Step Five:
Take your Copic Marker or other color tool you choose to use and color in the area that you did not bleach.

Step Six:
Finish your card to your liking. Add whatever embellishments you want.
