Down on the Farm, - F4A79

Good Morning Everyone,

Happy Tuesday! Today starts the madness of my week. We have open house for my girls at school. I have mixed feelings about them going to school for the first time. I am going to miss them terribly but on another note my baby will be so spoiled. (not that she isn't already).

Have you ever heard the song Down on Grandpa's farm by Barney? I know I said a bad word but that song popped into my head the second I saw this stamp set on Mark's Finest Papers blog hop in August. I totally love this stamp set it is so cute and so versatile. I stamped my image and sentiment with Stampin Up's More Mustard ink pad and then just highlighted the image with a black marker. I chose Stampin Up's Really Rust and More Mustard for my cardstock and then I found this really cute Barnyard designer paper from Doodlebug Design and last but not least I also used a cream colored cardstock. The base of my card is Really Rust and then I mounted the designer paper to that  and mounted my image onto a cream colored die cut and and mounted both of the image and sentiment to my More Mustard cardstock. Once this was done I mounted the image to the base of my card and then mounted the sentiment to the card with pop dots. I finished off the card with some yellow twine from Mark's Finest Papers and some cream colored buttons.

Thanks for stopping by and visiting. I hope you enjoyed my card. Have a blessed day.

Thanks
Debbie

Planted with Love - SC315 & WT337

Hello Everyone and again Happy Monday,

I have been looking at my schedule for the week and Whew what a week ahead of me. My two older girls are starting school this week and with teacher conferences and open house at school and my oldest is starting soccer too the week is jam packed. I am officially a soccer mom.

I am glad that I had time this weekend to get some cards done. Since I have been asked to be on Mark's Finest Papers http://marksfinestpapers.blogspot.com  Senior Design Team and Speedy the Cat's Friends challenge team I have been making cards with their stamps like crazy. Make sure you stop by Speedy TV in the near future to see the new happenings coming there. Back to the card, I used Mark's Finest Papers Planted with Love stamp set for this Split Coast Stamper challenge. The challenge was recycling. I had to wrack my brain on this one since I had no clue what to use on my card, then it hit me I have old wall paper I could use. I colored my image with my Stampin Up watercolor pencils and used Stampin Up's Pink Passion ink pad to stamp the image. I used Stampin Up's Pink Passion cardstock for the base of my card and a sage green to accent the rest of the card. I mounted my images to the card with pop dots. I then added a shear white ribbon and square gem stones.

Thanks for stopping by and visiting. Please come again and become a follower. Stay tuned blog candy coming soon. Have a blessed day.

Thanks

HSI # 13 - Anything Goes and/or Favorite Color Combo

Hello Everyone and Happy Monday,

What a great day to do cards and join some challenges. Heart Song Inspirations http://heartsonginspirations.blogspot.com  challenge this week is Anything Goes and/or Favorite Color Combo. For my card since I loved Split Coast Stampers sketch challenge this week I thought I would use that same sketch for this challenge as well. I used Heart Song Designs http://www.heartsongdesignsshop.com Soapwort image. I colored my image using colored pencils from Stampin up. Before I mounted the image to my sage green cardstock I brushed the edges of the white cardstock with Stampin Up's Pixie Pink ink pad. I did this technique to the three pieces of white cardstock and them mounted them all to the sage green. I added a pink and gold ribbon to one of the white cardstocks and then mounted all three to the card according to the sketch on pink cardstock that I chose for the base of my card. To finish off the card I added some green flowers with gemstones  from Petaloo to the blank piece of cardstock.

Thanks for stopping and visiting, be sure to sign up to follow my blog I am working on gathering goodies for the blog candy I promised, I don't want you to miss out. Make sure to stop by the Heart Song's blog to join in on the fun and to see the other members of the design teams gorgeous work.

Speedy the Cat Challenge #69 - Emboss It

Hello once again,

I am so excited to announce that I have been asked to join the Mark's Finest Papers Design Team. Not only will I be on the senior design team I will also be on the Speedy The Cat Challenge Team and an upcoming design team on Speedy TV. Make sure you stop by Speedy TV soon for upcoming news about this team. My excitement has been so huge I can hardly contain myself.

My card for this weeks Speedy challenge is one of my favorite cards I hope you all like it as much as I do. I chose to use Mark's finest Papers - Bearded Iris stamp set. First I stamped my image with VesaMark and heat embossed it with black embossing powder from Rubber Dub Dub, Inc. Once it was set I colored it with my Copic Markers G02, G09, V04 and V09. I also heat embossed my sentiment the same way. I cut out my image and mounted it to a cream colored die cut and I did the same with my sentiment. then I took a purple cardstock and embossed it with my Cuttlebug embossing folder and then mounted it to my TAC Neutral Cardstock which I chose for my base. Then I took a sage green cardstock and crimped it with my crimper and mounted it to the bottom of my purple cardstock. I then mounted my image to the base of the card and did the same with my sentiment using a sage green ribbon on the tag the sentiment is on. To finish off the card I added some diamond gems.

Thanks for visiting, I hope you liked my card. Have a blessed day!

Thanks
Debbie

Back To School - CC337

Hello Everyone and Happy Tuesday,

I hope you all are having a good day today. My day has been a challenge. My girls have been a challenge today. They seem to have forgot how to listen today. I think that I might end up losing what little hair I have. None the less I was able to get my card done for Split Coast Stampers color challenge today.

With September just around the corner - I thought we'd use the primary colors of

Real Red (Red)
Night of Navy (blue)
Daffodil Delight (yellow)

My dessert option is to use Back to School as your card theme - think books, pencils, apples, rulers, kids, backpacks etc!!

For my card I chose to use Heart Song Design www.heartsongdesignsshop.com
Book and Flowers set. I colored my image with Copic Markers B04, G02, G09, R14, R27, R43, Y13, Y15, Y19 and YR31. I used red cardstock for the base of my card, then I layered with Designer paper from the Paper Studio. I took school ribbon and filled in the spaces then I mounted my image onto a die cut and then to the card. I finished it off with the sentiment mounted on blue cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by and visiting. Please come again. Stay tuned for new and exciting things in the future. Have a blessed day!!!!

Thanks
Debbie

HSI #12 - Shabby Chic Rosa

Hello Everyone and welcome to another Heart Song Inspirations Challenge.

This week at Heart Song Inspirations http://heartsonginspirations.blogspot.com our challenge is to make a Shabby Chic and/or use pearls card. This was a hard one for me. I have never done a shabby chic card let alone know what it was. I asked my design team and I even asked one of my best friends. Some had an answer and some didn't and some of the answers made me even more confused, but I muddled through. My card today is kind an experiment for me. For my card I used Heart Song Designs www.heartsongdesignsshop.com Rosa with Bird image. Now ever since I started working with digital images I have been wracking my brain on how to emboss such an image. Well tonight I think I figured it out. I took the image and I filled in the areas that I wanted to emboss with a two-way glue pen, you have to do different colors separate. Once I put the glue in the areas I wanted I covered it with the embossing powder of my choice and repeated it for the other colors I wanted to use. You have to heat set it a little different than if you are using VersaMark and it bubbles up unlike Versamark but it gives a pretty cool look to it. Once I was done embossing the areas that I wanted I colored the rest in using Stampin Up's True Thyme, and Really Rust and finished the coloring with my Copic Markers B29, E00, E11, E13, e15, G02, G28, R14, R20, R27 and R46. Once I was done coloring the image I cut it out and mounted it to to a Spellbinder die cut with loops. I then took my Stampin Up's Eggplant Envy ink pad and dobbed the edges to distress the die cut. I mounted this to Ancestry designer paper and did the same distressing technique along with the sentiment and the base of the card. Once all that was done I finished off the card with cream and brown pearls. i finished off the inside of the card with a cream colored paper which I also distressed.

Thanks for stopping by and visiting. Make sure to join the Heart Song Challenge this week. Stay tuned I will be having a blog candy soon. Have a blessed day!!!

Thanks

Speedy Challenge #68

Well can I tell you all what a bone head I am? I created this card for Mark's Finest Papers Speedy the Cat's Challenge which I will be a member of the design team in October and I am thrilled about, but I didn't get it uploaded in time for the contest. What a dufus I am. Anyway since I made the card I might as well blog about it.

The challenge was distressing which I am not familiar with so I thought what the heck I will give it a try. Since Labor Day is fast approaching along with the anniversary of 9-1-1 I thought I would make my card showcasing that. I used Mark's Finest Papers http://www.marksfinestpapers.com - American Made stamp set. I colored my image with my Copics B29, E11, E13, E15, E18, E29, R46, YR12, YR19 along with using my Stampin Up's Basic Black ink pad. In theme of the card I chose red, white and blue cardstock. I also used Really Reasonable Ribbons - Red and Blue stared ribbon and I also used blue and bronze star eyelets.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my cards. I love new followers too. Stay tuned for new and exciting things happening in the next couple of months. Have a blessed day!!!

Thanks
Debbie

Mark's Finest Papers Summer Card Swap

Hello Everyone and Happy Friday,

The card I am showing you today is my submission for Mark's Finest Papers Summer card swap on Speedy TV. I created the card using Mark's Finest Papers http://www.marksfinestpapers.com Big Boy Toys stamp set. I just love this stamp set it ever since it was debuted. Not only am I submitting this card for the swap I am also using it for Liam's uncle's 60th Birthday. This is such a versatile stamp set. I colored the image using my limited Copic collection B00, E11, E13, E15, E29, G02, G09, R14, R27, and 100. I also used my Stampin Up Basic Black and Cranberry Crisp ink pads to stamp the background images. I chose TAC's Neutral cardstock for the base of my card and layered with Stampin Up's Cranberry Crisp and Off White. Once I mounted my truck image onto the cardstock I paper pierced around it and mounted it to my card with pop dots. I used black gross grain ribbon on the card and then mounted my sentiment with pop dots on top of the ribbon. Once all the elements were on I mounted the layers to the base of the card.

Thanks for visiting, stay tuned for more to come. I love new followers. I will be having a blog candy soon once I get it all together so watch for that. Have a blessed day!

Thanks

Beach Bummin - SC346

Hello Again,

Here with another card for you from Split Coast Stampers sketch challenge for today.

Again I chose my image from Marlene at Disguised as a Grown Up http://disguisedasagrownup.blogspot.com. The image is called Bummin Around, another great design by Marlene. I colored the image with my Stampin Up colored pencils and my Copic Markers E11, E13 and R20 for the skin. Since this is a summer image I chose a yellow cardstock for the base of my card and layered with lavender and pale yellow. I mounted my cardstock and images to the card and then I finished the card off with some purple gem stones just to give it a little more bling.

I hope you enjoyed the card, thanks for visiting please stop by again. Have a blessed day

Thanks
Debbie

What's Hot? - WT335

Hello everyone,

I hope you are having a good hump day. I am a little behind in my card posting from last weeks Way to Use it challenge on Split Coast Stampers, but better late than never. The challenge for last week was What's hot. I saw this challenge and I could help but want to use a digital image I got from Disguised as a Grown Up http://disguisedasagrownup.blogspot.com. His name is Banana Hammock and he is HOT alright. He is every woman's fantasy without the headache and strings attached. I so love Marlene and her funny images. She posts alot of her images for free for 24 hours so I suggest you pop on over and see her newest creation.

For my card I really struggled with what colors to use for my cardstock. I am not all that happy with the colors I chose but I suppose they will work. I chose red as my base since I colored his Speedo red. I used black as a layer for the card. I colored my image using my Copic Markers 0, E11, E13, R20, R29, R43, R46, YR31 and YR61. Even though I have not been able to go through the Copic marker training class I think my coloring is getting better the more I use it. Once the image was colored I cut him out. I took gold string ribbon and wrapped it around my black cardstock and finished it off with a red hat pin. Then I mounted the black to my base. Once I had the black mounted I mounted my guy to the black and my sentiment to the black with pop dots. After looking at the card I knew something was missing so I added some gold gems and a white flower from Petaloo.

I hope you enjoyed the card, thanks for visiting please stop by again or become a follower, I have some new and exciting things happening and coming up in the near future. Have a blessed day!

Thanks,
Debbie

Welcome Makaio - HSI #11

Hello Everyone and Happy Monday,

You guessed it, it is time for Heart Song Inspirations weekly challenge http://heartsonginspirations.blogspot.com. Today's challenge was to make a card using an animal image or pleated ribbon or paper. Leah the owner of Heart Song Designs has some exciting events happening in her life. She is in Ethiopia adopting a son that she and her family had to jump through hoops to do. As a surprise to her the design team at Heart Song decided to do baby cards to welcome her new bundle of joy Makaio. We hope that you all will join us in welcoming him not only to Leah's family but to America as well.

For my card I used Heart Song Designs www.heartsongdesignsshop.com Bella and Baby image. I colored the image with my brand new Prisma colored pencils. I also used my sentiment from Stampin Up's Welcome Little one which I used Brilliance Sky Blue ink pad. The base of my card is a baby blue cardstock which I layered with Paper Studio Baby Farm Animals design paper. I know I am mixing my animals but I couldn't resist the paper it was so cute. I layered my image and sentiment on a slate blue and sage green cardstock. I used a baby blue ribbon in which I pleated per the challenge. I really enjoyed making this card. I hope you enjoyed the card. Thanks for stopping by and please come again and become a follower. Have a blessed day!

Encouragement - CAS130

Hello Everyone and Happy Monday,

Today's card is for a couple of things. First and foremost it is a Thank You card for a church that my husband met with last night for a pastoral position. Secondly it is for Split Coast Stampers CAS challenge. The challenge was a sketch and at first I didn't think I wanted to do this challenge but after I finished my card I was really pleased. For the base of my card I used an Off White cardstock Then I stamped using Stampin Up's Orchid Opulence ink pad my cross from Sweet n' Sassy elegant Blessings stamp set and my sentiment from Sweet n' Sassy Encouragement stamp set. Once I stamped my cross I thought it needed something so placed pearls from The Paper Studio on the cross to add a little pizzazz to the cross. Then I used Really Reasonable Ribbons, purple checkered ribbon.

On the inside of the card I stamped in the same ink a thank you note from Mark's Finest Papers; Sand, Surf, Relax stamp set.

I hope you enjoyed the card, thanks for visiting please stop by again and become a follower. Have a blessed day!

HSI #10 - Back to School

Hello Everyone and Welcome to a new Heart Song Inspirations challenge http://heartsonginspirations.blogspot.com. This weeks challenge is to make a back to school card and/or circles. With school starting in just a few short weeks what a better time to do a back to school card. My oldest daughter Alina is going to be starting Pre-K this fall (hopefully, the school has not made a decision yet). She is so excited and can't wait to start (that will change in a few years).

I was really excited to make this card with the new images that are available at Heart Song Designs www.heartsongdesignsshop.com. It was such a hard decision to make on what image I was going to use. I chose to use Heart Song Designs Apple image and my sentiment from Books and Flowers set. I colored my image using Copic Markers 100, E13, E15, E18, G02, G09, R14, R27, R43 and R46.  Since I loved this sketch so much I used Split Coast Stampers SC343. I used red cardstock as my base and black cardstock as a layer. I layered The Paper Studio's School Supplies Mix designer paper on the black cardstock and then mounted those layers to the base of my card. I used The Ribbon Boutique - school ribbon as and accent to the card and then I mounted my apple to the card with pop dots to give it dimension.

I hope you enjoyed your stop, please come again and maybe become a follower.  Have a blessed day!!!

Don't forget to make your card and join the challenge.

Just a Note - SC343; CC334

Hello Everyone,

I hope you all had a good day today. I went to see my dad today who is in such poor shape. I sat on his hospital bed and rubbed his back and fighting the tears, all the while my mom is sobbing. I spent as much time with him tonight as I could and when I left I felt like I was saying good-bye to him for the last time. He is holding on because he is so worried about my mom being alone. I have lost friends in my life before but I have never lost someone so close to me, I don't know what to do.

When I got home I was so upset I needed an outlet to get my mind off of things for a while. This is a card to my dad for being the best dad he knew how. My card today is for 2 of Split Coast Stampers challenges. One from last weeks sketch challenge which I loved and the other is from today's color challenge. The color challenge for today is BASIC WHITE, GOING GRAY, TEMPTING TURQUOISE . Although I do not have these Stampin Up colors I used the closest that I had. My cardstock is white, grey, and teal. I used Mark's Finest Papers stamp set Sand, Surf, Relax and I used Stampin Up's Taken With Teal ink pad. I used Really Reasonable Ribbons, grey and turquoise ribbon and finished the card off with some grey gemstones.

I hope you enjoyed the card, sorry for the sadness. Thanks for stopping by please come again. Have a blessed day!

I Forgot!!!! - CAS 129

Hello again everyone,

I have had a busy day, I figured since I slacked off so much last month that I need to make up for lost time. Today my card is for the Split Coast Stampers Clean and Simple card challenge. The  challenge today was to make a belated birthday card. I was so excited when I saw this since I have had an image that I got as a freebie from Disguised as a Grown Up http://disguisedasagrownup.blogspot.com. His name is Forgetful Freddie. Marlene is the creator of this image and so many more AWESOME images. I look forward to her posts everyday because she makes me laugh. Some of her images are risque and I won't use some of them because of the language but I love them. I colored my image with my Copic Markers (B04, B15, B29, E00, E11, E13, E15, E29, G02, G09, G28 and R20). My coloring is not as good as alot of crafters out there because I am still learning so I hope you still enjoy it. I also used Aqua and green cardstock for my card and finished it off with some Aqua brads and some paper piercing (which got out of control).

Thanks for stopping by and visiting. I would love to see you as a follower if you aren't already.
Have a blessed day!!!!!

Prayers Please!!!

Hello Everyone,

This post is different from the normal posts. I have always said to myself that I am going to use this blog to glorify the lord. With that said I want to share what my family is facing right now and ask for your prayers. My dad has been poor health for a while now but the past 6 months have been the worst. I hate to say this but we think he may be at the end of his life. Last September he had stomach surgery to repair a perforated ulcer and ever since then he has been declining, and the past 3 months seems to be speeding up drastically. My dad has gone from weighing 170 pounds to weighing 104. He is nothing but skin and bones and is so weak. He has gone from walking on his own to needing the use of a walker. He has hospice care once a week and now has to have a hospital bed in the house. He has times of confusion and is combative. It is really hard for my mom to watch her husband of 40+ years suffer like this. He was just in the hospital two weeks ago with double pneumonia, due to the lack of oxygen to the brain he was so confused and combative and the fear in his eyes was heartbreaking. I have never seen my dad like this and when I go to visit him whether it be at home or in the hospital holding back the tears is getting harder and harder. Know he is so weak he falls so often and then my mom will find him later and that is so scary.   What scares me even more is that if my dad goes I think my mom will not be long behind him. They are together 24/7 and I know she can't live without him. Growing up I never saw my parents fight and they always acted like they were teenagers in love. I try to mirror my marriage in that way too. My parents never leave each other without giving each other a kiss first. My husband Liam always reminds me of that so we are trying to make sure we do the same thing in our marriage. My mom is desperate to keep my dad and I can say the rest of the family feels the same way. Please pray for healing of my dad and wisdom for the doctors to finally figure out what is going on with my dad. Pray for peace for my mom and that she will ask for help in caring for my dad and not take it all on herself. Please pray for their salvation as well. Please pray for peace and wisdom for the family as we dealing with this tough time in our lives.

Thanks for visiting and for your prayers.

In Christ
Debbie

HSI # 9 Pansies

Hello Everyone and Happy Monday!

It's that time again, Heart Song Inspirations weekly challenge http://heartsonginspirations.blogspot.com. This weeks challenge is Monochromatic and/or use brads. Heart Song Designs www.heartsongdesignsshop.com has alot of new images to offer which made this challenge for me very difficult. I could not make up my mind what image I was going to use. Make sure you stop by to see what the store has to offer.

My card for this challenge is using Heart Song Designs - Teacup Pansies. I colored my image using my favorite technique )watercoloring) with my Stampin Up Lavender Lace, Perfect Plum, Close to Cocoa and Green Galore ink pads. I also used Copic Markers YR12 and Y19. I chose white for the base of card to make the lavender cardstock stand out. I cut my image out so that it was more defined. I dry embossed the top of my white cardstock with a flower. Then I took my lavender cardstock and crimped it with my crimper and then I edged punched the bottom of the cardstock. Then I mounted my lavender striped designer paper ( company unknown) to that, once that was done I added my yellow flowered brads. Once all this was complete I mounted my lavender cardstock to the base of my card and did the same with my sentiment. To finish off my card I took my cup of pansies and mounted it to the card using pop dots. I really enjoyed this challenge and I hope you all will too. Good luck to you all and hope to see you all next week.

Thanks for stopping and have a blessed day!!

Debbie
